Now that the original Slide It! has been updated to v1.5 and been made completely FREE - which a great many of you downloaded over the Holidays - It's my pleasure to start dishing details on Slide It!2:Evolution.  It only seems appropriate to kick it off by talking about how the gameplay from the original has truly evolved in SI!2:E.  Read on for details of Marathon Mode!

It's Definitely Not A Sprint

In the original Slide It!, the goal was to keep racking up your score by matching tiles into slots and chaining combos.  This core concept entails a Marathon-style gameplay, which rewards the gamer for coming up with a long term strategy to keep time on the clock even if it meant sacrificing a large multiplier in the short run.

Marathon Classic

In SI!2:E, the Classic style of gameplay returns as 'Marathon Classic' which is the same core concept you've likely mastered in the original game.  If you've played Slide It! before, you'll be able to jump right in and capitalize on strategies you learned in the first one, but with smoother, completely revamped graphics, better touch response, more effects, better sounds, and so much more.  Gamers will race against the clock to boost their score by building up multipliers, performing combo drops, and leveraging bonus badges.  Its everything you loved about the original Slide It!, polished and refined.

Marathon Evolved

In staying true to its 'Evolution' moniker, SI!2:E offers Marathon Evolved as a true evolutionary challenge and improvement from the original.  In this brand new mode, players must think ahead in order to maximize their score - as in Marathon Classic - but also worry about a new enemy: The Virus.

Rather than fighting the clock in Marathon Evolved, players must avoid mistakes and keep a quick pace between moves to avoid tiles on the board being infected by a spreading virus.  When the board is completely infected, it's game over.  Don't worry though, you'll have an arsenal of powerful tools, including elemental weapons, bombs, and anti-viral treatments to help.

There is still much more coming to Slide It!2:Evolution, so watch for my next few posts to cover some new concepts like Gravity and to share some insight into the development process.
